Actalent in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Sr Embedded Software Engineer to own firmware architecture, design, and testing across the full product lifecycle. You will collaborate with hardware and product teams, apply Agile practices, and deliver production‑ready C/C++ firmware for safety‑critical systems with strong emphasis on traceability and quality.
Requires 5+ years in embedded software with RTOS, a Bachelor’s in CE/EE/CS, and hands‑on experience with JTAG/SWD, oscilloscopes, and protocol
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience developing embedded software/firmware in C/C++.
- 2+ years of experience with RTOS.
Responsibilities
- Translate high‑level concepts into robust firmware architectures.
- Capture and document requirements for regulated products.
- Collaborate with hardware teams on integration strategies and diagnostics.
- Work with Product Owners using Agile practices to maintain alignment.
- Lead development processes and deliver production‑quality source code.
- Ensure firmware is well‑documented, tested, and version‑controlled.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies across the firmware lifecycle.
- Support system architecture definition and refinement.
