Job summary

Molg is seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to join a cross-functional team in Sterling, VA. You will own firmware for Molg’s robotic microfactory systems, from requirements to deployment, across bare-metal and RTOS environments.

Key focus areas include CAN/SPI/I2C/UART/Ethernet drivers, hardware collaboration, HIL/SIL testing, and observability through logging and telemetry. You’ll contribute to architecture decisions and documentation, with in-person collaboration at Molg HQ.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional firmware or embedded systems experience.
• Expert-level C/C++ with strong debugging and hardware insight.
• Experience with microcontrollers such as STM32/ESP32/NXP/TI.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain firmware for embedded systems across Molg’s robotic platforms.
• Own firmware lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment.
• Develop and maintain drivers for CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, RS-485, Ethernet.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up new hardware and debug interactions.
• Build HIL/SIL test frameworks and CI/CD validation for firmware.
• Define firmware interfaces with software stacks and ensure reliable comms.
• Instrument firmware with logging, telemetry, and diagnostics for production.
