Job summary

Strategic Sight Consulting LLC in Maryland seeks a Firmware Engineer – Embedded Controls / Sensors to develop, modify, and troubleshoot embedded firmware across unmanned and sensor platforms for national security missions. You will work with embedded processors, microcontrollers, sensors, motors, and actuators to prototype and mature firmware interfacing with complex hardware.

Candidates bring 10+ years in embedded systems, US citizenship, and a TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

Must have TS/SCI clearance and US citizenship.
Minimum 10 years of embedded systems experience plus 4 years in design of embedded/electronic systems.
Experience with C/C++ or similar low-level languages.
Experience with microcontrollers, SoC platforms and peripherals.
Experience interfacing firmware with hardware using SPI/I2C/UART/CAN etc.

Responsibilities

Develop, modify, integrate, test, and troubleshoot embedded firmware for advanced hardware systems.
Design and debug software on embedded processors, microcontrollers, and SoCs.
Integrate firmware with motors, actuators, sensors, optics, and control systems.
Interface hardware using SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, PWM, ADC/DAC.
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, and systems teams.
Provide real-time firmware with interrupts, timers, and memory management.
Perform hardware and firmware troubleshooting with lab equipment.
