Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking an Embedded Firmware Design Engineer to join a leading telecommunications technology company onsite near Raleigh, NC. You will develop low-level firmware for networking products and collaborate with hardware teams on bring-up and system integration.

The role requires 10+ years in embedded development, proficiency in C/C++, Linux, and RTOS, and eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance.

Qualifications

10+ years of embedded firmware or embedded software development experience.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain and maintain an Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain embedded firmware for telecommunications and networking products.
Design and implement device drivers, BSPs, and low-level software.
Support board bring-up, hardware validation, and system integration efforts.
Debug firmware and hardware interactions using industry-standard lab tools.
Develop software for Linux and RTOS-based embedded systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve firmware issues throughout development and production.
Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams on new product development.
Participate in design reviews and contribute to product architecture discussions.
Support deployed products through issue investigation and root cause analysis.
