Piper Companies is seeking a Junior Firmware Engineer to sit onsite in RTP, NC, to join a leading technology organization focused on advanced networking and embedded systems solutions.

The Junior Firmware Engineer will contribute to the development of low-level software for next-generation hardware platforms, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality, reliable products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of related experience or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong programming experience with C in an embedded systems environment.
• Knowledge of embedded software architecture, RTOS concepts, and debugging methodologies.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals and common communication protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot embedded software for networking and hardware-based products.
• Participate in software reviews and contribute to code quality, performance, and maintainability improvements.
• Create and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests to validate functionality and reliability.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and validation teams to support product development and integration efforts.
• Document software designs, technical specifications, testing procedures, and development activities.
