Piper Companies is seeking a Junior Firmware Engineer to join our RTP, NC team onsite. The role focuses on developing low-level firmware for next‑generation hardware platforms and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure high-quality, reliable products.

Ideal candidates have a BS or MS in a technical field with 2+ years of embedded C experience, RTOS knowledge, and familiarity with networking protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of related experience or Master's degree in a technical field.
• Strong programming experience with C in an embedded environment.
• Knowledge of embedded software architecture, RTOS concepts, and debugging methodologies.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals and common protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot embedded software for networking and hardware-based products.
• Participate in software reviews and contribute to code quality, performance, and maintainability improvements.
• Create and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests to validate functionality and reliability.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and validation teams to support product development and integration efforts.
• Document software designs, technical specifications, testing procedures, and development activities.
