CyberCoders is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer in Poway, CA to design, develop, test, and support embedded software for aerospace applications. This role centers on low-level development, real-time OS, device drivers, BSPs, and hardware integration in a high-reliability environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C and Python.
• Experience with VxWorks, Embedded Linux, and Bare Metal development.
• Hands-on experience with bootloaders, BSPs, and device drivers.
• Strong low-level hardware debugging and board bring-up experience.
• Familiarity with laboratory test equipment and debugging tools.
• Knowledge of NAND Flash memory and file systems is a plus.

Position Overview

Seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and support embedded software solutions for advanced aerospace and space applications. This role focuses on low-level software development, real-time operating systems, device drivers, board support packages, and hardware integration in a high-reliability environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test embedded software using C and Python
• Develop and maintain bootloaders, board support packages, and device drivers
• Support VxWorks, Embedded Linux, and RTEMS-based platforms
• Perform hardware bring-up, debugging, and verification of embedded systems
• Create test plans, verification procedures, and automated test applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve technical challenges
• Support manufacturing and production activities through software troubleshooting and issue resolution
• Participate in software architecture, design reviews, and technical discussions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of embedded software development experience
• Strong proficiency in C and Python
• Experience with VxWorks, Embedded Linux, and Bare Metal development
