Job summary

Rite-Hite Digital Solutions Inc. in Wisconsin seeks an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer to design, develop, and maintain firmware for ARM MCUs, RTOS/bare-metal, and embedded Linux.

You will implement secure boot, OTA updates, MQTT networking, and reusable edge components across product families, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers. 7+ years of hands-on embedded firmware experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering.
• 7+ years embedded firmware/software development.
• Strong C/C++ skills with RTOS/bare-metal experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, debug, and maintain C/C++ firmware for ARM microcontrollers, RTOS/bare-metal, and embedded Linux.
• Build reusable firmware and edge components across product families.
• Implement secure provisioning, authenticated communications, secure boot, OTA updates, and recovery mechanisms.
• Develop Linux edge applications and services, including IPC, networking, and distributed edge computing.
• Integrate firmware with edge compute, sensors, and device-management platforms.
• Develop automated unit/integration tests and support hardware-in-the-loop, system validation, and release readiness.
• Partner with architects and cross-functional teams on system interfaces and delivery.
• Mentor engineers, participate in code reviews, and improve development practices.
