Xylem, a global leader in water technology, seeks a Senior Firmware Engineer in Morrisville, NC to advance embedded firmware for high-volume metering products. You will craft embedded C code for ARM platforms, develop Java runtimes, and drive improvements in testing, diagnostics, and security across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• B.S./M.S. in Computer/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of embedded firmware experience for high-volume products.
• Expert C programming with device drivers and HALs; strong Java in embedded runtimes.
• Deep knowledge of ARM processors, peripherals, and startup/shutdown sequences.
• Experience with RTOS, SPI/I2C, and inter-processor communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for ARM MCUs in high-volume metering products.
• Develop and optimize embedded C code, HALs, and Java software for custom runtimes.
• Collaborate with hardware/software teams to integrate complex systems.
• Develop RTOS-based real-time solutions and automated build/tests; CI/CD pipelines.
• Incorporate diagnostics, security features, and design-for-test principles across the lifecycle.
