Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Firmware Engineer to own embedded software features from requirements through verification and maintenance. You will work with systems, hardware, FPGA, and architecture teams to clarify needs and drive robust, testable code.

Proficiency in modern C++, Linux, and debugging tools is essential. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in embedded firmware, strong C++ skills, and experience with Git, CI/CD, and diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience developing embedded or firmware software.
• Strong C++ programming skills with OO design, memory management and concurrency.
• Hands-on experience interfacing software with hardware, RTOS, or constrained embedded platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own firmware features through requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, verification and defect resolution.
• Learn existing code, hardware interfaces and development tools; identify resources and ask targeted questions.
• Develop maintainable embedded software in modern C++ with good interfaces and error handling.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, FPGA, software and architecture teams to clarify requirements and tradeoffs.
• Create unit/integration tests and contribute to automated testing and CI to improve quality.
