Heath Consultants Incorporated seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer III in Houston, TX to join our Product Engineering team. You will design, develop, test, and support embedded instrumentation and systems for the natural gas utility industry.

This hands-on role spans electronics, firmware, sensing, and systems engineering, from concept through prototype, testing, manufacturing, and ongoing product improvement, collaborating across firmware, software, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Electronics Engineering or related field.
  • 4–7 years of experience in R&D, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in embedded electronics, instrumentation, sensing or related product development.
  • Proficiency with electrical CAD tools such as Altium.

Responsibilities

  • Develop embedded and real-time systems using C, C++, Python, and/or MATLAB.
  • Work with modern engineering tools such as GitHub, Jira, and Visual Studio.
  • Design and support low-power electronics for portable, handheld instruments with wired/wireless connectivity.
  • Lead or contribute to electronics architecture, schematics, PCB layouts, bring-up, design reviews and product release support.
  • Coordinate with firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, suppliers, repair, and product management.
