Job summary

KeyBank seeks an Embedded Banking Support Technical Lead to own production stability and incident response across APIs, payments, and ERP integrations. You will partner with engineering, product, operations, and security to restore service quickly, reduce repeat incidents, and improve observability.

The role combines deep integration know-how with operational leadership, mentoring engineers to build a proactive, resilient support organization and to drive reliability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in software engineering, app support, or production operations.
• 5+ years supporting business-critical apps or complex production environments, preferably in financial services.
• Experience leading incident triage, root-cause analysis, and remediation across distributed teams.
• Hands-on with REST/SOAP, HTTP, Java, microservices, SQL and relational DBs.
• Experience with Apigee and webMethods.
• CI/CD, automated testing, version control, and deployment tooling.
• Production monitoring, alerting, logging, and operational docs.

Responsibilities

• Lead production support for high-priority incidents and coordinate recovery.
• Drive root-cause analysis and track remediation actions.
• Define readiness criteria for releases, including monitoring and runbooks.
• Improve observability across APIs, payments, and integrations.
• Review deployment plans and support production deployments.
• Diagnose issues across Java, APIs, microservices, and databases.
• Partner with security and EA on vulnerabilities and controls.
• Mentor engineers and establish troubleshooting standards.
• Automate repetitive support tasks and improve processes.
• Translate technical issues into business impact and next steps.
