Job summary

Wabtec's Evident Inspection Technologies division is seeking an experienced software architect to own the software architecture for embedded Qt-based applications and to drive system design across the product. You will lead a cross-functional team, guide architectural decisions, and ensure robust integration of embedded Linux, hardware interfaces, and CI/CD workflows.

This role offers the chance to influence long-term product goals within a global industrial tech leader.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 10 years professional experience.
• 7+ years in C++, Qt/QML, and full-stack embedded application development.
• Strong background in embedded Linux development.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams or acting as a senior technical lead.
• Ability to produce elegant, maintainable software architectures and design artifacts.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end software architecture for embedded Qt-based applications.
• Lead a cross-functional team, mentoring engineers and providing architectural oversight.
• Lead integration of software and hardware into embedded Linux environments.
• Define testing strategies and support CI/CD pipelines and OTA updates.
