Job summary
Wabtec Corporation is seeking a Software Architect for Evident Inspection Technologies to own end-to-end software architecture for embedded Qt-based applications and to drive system design across hardware and software interfaces.
The role leads a cross-functional team, shaping technical strategy, design trade-offs, and testing practices, with emphasis on scalable, maintainable architectures in embedded Linux environments. Strong leadership and communication are essential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years professional experience.
- 7+ years in C++, Qt/QML and full-stack embedded app development.
- Strong background in embedded Linux development.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams or as a senior technical lead.
- Ability to produce elegant, maintainable software architectures and artifacts.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end software architecture for embedded Qt-based applications.
- Develop and maintain system designs, APIs, interface specs, and design docs.
- Lead integration of software and hardware components in embedded Linux.
- Drive testing strategies and CI/CD support.
