Job summary

The Dixon Group in West Chester, OH is seeking a Senior Production Test Technician to maintain test equipment reliability, diagnose failures on manufacturing lines, and perform board-level repairs on electronic assemblies. You will support test cells, drive downtime reduction, and contribute to preventive maintenance and documentation efforts.

Ideal candidates have 3–5+ years of electronics troubleshooting, strong schematic reading skills, and experience with SMD rework and LabVIEW.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• 3–5+ years of hands-on electronics troubleshooting and test fixture maintenance.
• Proficiency in reading schematics and using diagnostic tools (oscilloscopes, DMMs).
• Experience with manual soldering and precision SMD rework.
• Strong problem-solving and independent issue resolution abilities.
• Good computer literacy and familiarity with LabVIEW runtime interfaces.
• Basic hand tool proficiency and experience in electronics production.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary responder to production line test failures and determine root cause.
• Diagnose hardware issues on automated test equipment and replace components.
• Maintain and configure PCs for test stations and deploy tools from GitHub.
• Update configurations for new product variants and laser marking jobs.
• Design/modify fixturing and work-holding as needed.
• Fabricate solder/rework test leads and wiring harnesses for reliability.
• Analyze non-conforming units using schematics, DMMs, and oscilloscopes.
• Perform precision SMD rework to restore assemblies.
• Log root causes and defects; coordinate with vendors to reduce defects.
• Develop and document a preventive maintenance schedule for test cells.
• Create and update assembly instructions and SOPs for floor personnel.
