Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Reston, VA is seeking a Senior Electronics Hardware Engineer to drive the design and development of airworthy electronic engine control and monitoring systems. You will contribute across concept, design, testing and certification stages within multidisciplinary teams.

The role combines hands-on hardware work with system-level analysis, tolerances, FMEA and circuit stress studies, and offers a hybrid schedule with some travel to Rolls-Royce sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of Electronic Hardware Circuit Design experience
• Master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering
• PhD in Electronics/Electrical Engineering

Responsibilities

• Concept, design and execute electronics circuit design for control and monitoring systems
• Perform trade study analysis, tolerance analysis and various simulations to support design accuracy and efficiency
• Perform worst case calculation and analysis (tolerance, stress and FMEA analysis)
• Develop electrical hardware products in the lab through testing, diagnosing, and inspection through development lifecycle
• Compile functional description and design assurance testing results into a report sufficient for certifying authorities
