Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Software System Controls Engineer I & II to work in agile teams designing, integrating, and testing embedded control systems for aero engines. You’ll translate system requirements into software components while ensuring certification evidence and safety objectives are met.

The role spans development, integration, and verification across hardware and software, with opportunities to contribute to next-generation engine control systems and the NPI program.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (STEM) with relevant experience in safety-critical control systems
• Experience with embedded software in safety-critical controls
• Familiar with model-based design using SysML and Simulink
• U.S. citizenship required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Develop safety-critical gas turbine engine control systems with embedded software to meet ARP4754, DO-254, DO-178C
• Integrate hardware and software components within defined architecture
• Test embedded control systems at component, system, engine, and aircraft levels
• Develop and modify processes to meet compliance objectives and development pace
• Set up and modify CI/CD frameworks to streamline software work
• Liaise with certification airworthiness authorities to demonstrate compliance and close audit findings
