Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Reston, VA is seeking a Senior Electronics Hardware Engineer to join the Electronics Development Team. This role offers a hybrid schedule (3 office days per week) with travel up to 20% between Rolls-Royce sites and up to 15% elsewhere.

You will design electronics hardware for airworthy controllers and monitoring systems, perform analyses, and contribute across the development lifecycle from concept through testing and certification. U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of experience.
• Master's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering.
• PhD in Electronics/Electrical Engineering.
• U.S. Citizenship required to be eligible for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Concept, design and execute electronics circuit design for control and monitoring systems
• Perform trade study analysis, tolerance analysis and various simulations to support design accuracy and efficiency
• Perform worst case calculation and analysis (tolerance, stress and FMEA analysis)
• Develop electrical hardware products in the lab through testing, diagnosing, and inspection through development lifecycle
• Compile functional description and design assurance testing results into a report sufficient for certifying authorities
