Job summary

Generac Home is hiring for a Senior Electronics Design Engineer in Reno, NV. You will own interconnect board architecture across power conversion, metering, and control, partnering with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams to deliver robust, cost-effective products.

The role emphasizes leadership in design reviews, DFx, and safety considerations with revenue-grade metering experience and mixed-signal hardware expertise.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years in mixed-signal electronic hardware design and product development.
• Experience across full product development cycles and production readiness.
• Hands-on power-conversion design (AC/DC and/or DC/DC) and embedded control systems.
• Ownership of board-level architecture decisions beyond schematic/layout.
• Knowledge of revenue-grade metering and calibration considerations.
• Schematic capture and PCB layout review; debugging complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Own and validate analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for power conversion and metering.
• Perform schematic capture, component selection, simulation, PCB design reviews, and hardware debugging.
• Apply safety principles including DFMEA and UL 991; drive manufacturability and cost targets.
• Support manufacturing at scale; resolve production issues and root-cause hardware failures.
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, quality, and test engineering on robust products.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership through reviews and decisions.
