Job summary

Moog Space & Defense Group is seeking a Senior Electronics Design Engineer in Blacksburg, VA. The role focuses on designing and developing electronic hardware for mission-critical aerospace and defense applications, from concept through implementation, reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager.

You will work with customers and suppliers to deliver robust hardware solutions, conducting verification, testing, and integration while supporting proposals, cost estimates, and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5 years of experience developing electronic hardware products and systems.
• Experience bringing designs from concept through testing and implementation.
• Familiarity with circuit design, PCB development, embedded hardware, system integration, or hardware verification.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design hardware schematics, PCB layouts, and bills of materials (BOMs).
• Conduct hardware integration, verification, troubleshooting, and testing.
• Support technical project planning, including proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and design reviews.
• Ensure traceability between customer requirements and system requirements.
• Develop engineering test requirements and unit-, subsystem-, and system‑level test plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Contribute to development of new technologies, products, and processes that meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
