Job summary

Bradford White Corporation is seeking an Electronics Controls Systems Engineer to lead the development, integration, and validation of electronic and electromechanical systems for residential and commercial water heating products.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical engineering, with 10+ years in appliance-related environments, and a track record from concept to production launch.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years engineering experience in appliances, HVAC, water heating, or related product development.
• Experience leading products from concept through production launch.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical system design.
• Experience with embedded control systems and communication protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-level design of electronic controls for water heating appliances.
• Define control architectures, requirements, interfaces, and performance specifications.
• Develop and validate control strategies for heating elements, sensors, actuators, and safety systems.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, firmware, software, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Perform system integration, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting of controls issues.
• Develop verification and validation plans for functional, safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct FMEA, design reviews, risk assessments, and RCAs.
• Support controls certification (UL, CSA, IEC) and other standards.
• Support field investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
