Job summary

Sanmina Corporation, a global EMS leader, seeks a seasoned Purchasing professional to manage procurement of electronic and electro-mechanical components in a fast-paced California environment.

You will negotiate with suppliers, coordinate with engineers, and maintain data integrity across MRP systems to ensure on-time delivery and optimal costs. Strong Excel skills and APIC/CPS certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree and/or APIC certification.
• 5+ years purchasing experience procuring electronic and electro-mechanical components.
• CM background with direct customer interface.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables).
• Strong negotiation, analytical and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Examine purchase requirements and shortages, obtain quotations and negotiate best prices.
• Work with engineers and suppliers for alternate sources and cost reductions.
• Source vendors and negotiate price, terms and delivery of components to ensure quality and profit.
• Expedite and update open-order status reports for on-time delivery.
• Serve as liaison between manufacturing specialists and suppliers regarding late or short orders.
• Provide purchasing/quoting support to CM for critical component shortages.
• Reconcile discrepancies between PO receipts and Accounts Payable.
• Maintain data integrity of PO and parts databases and manage MRP planning data.
• Manage discrepant material disposition and recovery plans.
• Coordinate purchasing details with suppliers regarding pricing revisions and delivery changes.
• Expedite shortages to meet manufacturing need dates and update shortage reports.
• Ensure materials are pipelined and in stock to meet company requirements.
