Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc. is seeking a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to own the interconnect product board architecture, spanning power conversion, metering, and control.

You will collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and test to deliver robust, cost-effective home energy solutions. The role demands leading design decisions, practical experience with power electronics, and a track record from concept through production, including safety-critical considerations and DFx for

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in mixed-signal electronic hardware design and product development.
• Experience through full development cycles and into production.
• Hands-on power-conversion design (AC-DC and/or DC-DC) and microcontroller-based embedded control.
• Ownership of board-level architecture decisions and interfaces, not just schematic execution.

Responsibilities

• Own and validate analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for power conversion and metering.
• Perform schematic capture, component selection, simulation, PCB design reviews, and hardware debugging.
• Apply functional safety principles (DFMEA) and compliance with standards (UL 991).
• Drive manufacturability, testability, reliability, and cost through DFx.
• Support manufacturing, resolve hardware issues, and collaborate across firmware, mechanical, quality, and test teams.
• Mentor engineers and lead design reviews and architecture decisions.
