Ayr Energy, Inc. is seeking a senior power electronics engineer to architect, design, and industrialize high-performance power converters for grid and energy applications.

You will own hardware from spec through production and collaborate across mechanical, thermal, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure reliable, scalable solutions. Qualifications

• Strong understanding of power converter topologies – both theory and practical design.
• 5+ years of hands-on hardware experience in design and industrialization of power converter products.
• Experience with high voltage power semiconductor selection (IGBTs, Si/SiC/GaN MOSFETs, and diodes).
• Knowledge of magnetics (inductors, transformers) and capacitors for high voltage/high frequency power conversion.
• Knowledge of basic control theory and experience with embedded programming.
• Extensive hands-on experience with advanced digital and HV circuit bring-up and troubleshooting.
• Awareness of UL and CE electrical safety requirements; EMC requirements relevant to the design of power converters is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communications in English.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, build and industrialize power converter hardware for grid and energy product applications.
• Architect and model new power electronics topologies with superior performance.
• Own hardware end-to-end – from specification to design, prototype, reliability validation and production.
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, PCB layout, firmware, manufacturing and testing teams to validate Ayr products.
• Define and execute validation test plans including structural, thermal, and environmental testing.
