A leading quantitative investment firm is looking for a Senior Production Engineer to join its growing Market Access & Platform team in Connecticut.
This is a highly visible, front-office technology role sitting at the intersection of trading, engineering and production infrastructure. You will take ownership of the stability, reliability and performance of a sophisticated electronic trading platform, working closely with traders and engineering teams to ensure critical systems operate effectively in production.
What You’ll Be Doing

- Work directly with traders and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
- Support the full trading lifecycle, including order entry, execution, market connectivity, market data and trade processing.
- Own production incidents from initial investigation through to root-cause analysis and permanent resolution.
- Monitor platform health, identify recurring issues and improve the reliability and resilience of the trading environment.
- Manage and support production changes, releases and deployments across critical trading applications.
- Develop and improve monitoring, alerting and automation to reduce manual intervention and improve incident response.
- Use Python and SQL to investigate issues, analyse production data and build tools for operational efficiency.
- Explore and implement AI/LLM-based tooling to improve incident triage, troubleshooting and production automation.
- Partner closely with engineering teams to identify systemic issues and drive improvements across the platform.
What We’re Looking For
- 5–7+ years' experience in Production Engineering, Electronic Trading Support, Application Support or a closely related production technology role.
- Experience supporting electronic trading or front-office platforms, ideally within an investment bank, hedge fund or other financial institution.
- Strong understanding of trading technology, including order management, execution, market connectivity and market data.
- Strong troubleshooting and incident-management skills, with experience conducting RCA and driving issues through to permanent resolution.
- Strong Python and SQL skills.
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, automation and production stability.
- Comfortable working directly with traders and senior technology stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on improving platform reliability rather than simply reacting to incidents.
The firm offers a highly competitive compensation package and excellent benefits, alongside strong opportunities for technical development and progression.
