Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks an Electromechanical Engineer/Principal Electromechanical Engineer in Aurora, Colorado. The candidate will design and integrate hardware systems with a focus on how changes in requirements affect hardware designs, including power, RF, and fiber signals.

The role involves system-level testing, troubleshooting, and documentation, with travel to support installations. A TS clearance is required; Level can be 2 or 3 based on qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 2+ years of relevant experience (Level 2) or Master’s with 0+ years (Level 2).
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5+ years or Master’s with 3+ years (Level 3).
• Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance and ability to obtain SCI access.
• Experience with hardware design and integration processes; familiarity with changes in requirements on hardware design.
• Knowledge of power, RF, and fiber electrical signals and applications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on the design and integration of hardware systems ensuring adherence to changing requirements and specifications.
• Create/update drawings, support equipment moves, rack and stack of equipment and integration of compute equipment into a shelter for deployment.
• Travel to support installation and configuration events; CONUS/OCONUS travel possible.
• Participate in system-level testing and verification processes, ensuring hardware meets all specified requirements and standards.
• Troubleshoot and modify existing hardware designs to enhance performance and reliability.
• Document design alterations, prepare status reports, and develop validation plans.
• Coordinate with Material Management and engineering teams to ensure material/equipment/tooling alignment to higher level assemblies.
• Position may require occasional travel to support field activities and hardware deployment.
