Radiance Technologies seeks a Senior Electromagnetics Engineer to support R&D programs in directed energy, high‑power microwave systems, RF, pulsed power, and related technologies at its Huntsville, AL headquarters.
You will apply electromagnetic theory, computational modeling, and experimental methods to analyze, design, integrate, and test RF and EM systems, leading tasks and mentoring junior engineers. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a government security clearance required.
Radiance Technologies is seeking a Senior Electromagnetics Engineer to support ongoing research and development programs in areas including directed energy, high-power microwave systems, RF systems, pulsed power, and related technologies. This is a full-time position based at a Radiance’s headquarters in Huntsville, Alabama.
This position involves fast-paced, hands-on work in a laboratory environment with a highly multidisciplinary engineering team. The selected candidate will apply electromagnetic theory, computational modeling, and experimental methods to the analysis, design, integration, and testing of RF and electromagnetic systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in applied electromagnetics with demonstrated experience solving practical engineering problems involving electromagnetic fields, RF propagation, transmission lines, waveguides, antennas, or related technologies. The candidate should be comfortable moving between analytical calculations, computational electromagnetic modeling, hardware development, and laboratory measurement.
The selected candidate will be expected to independently lead electromagnetic analysis and design efforts, develop and evaluate computational models, plan and execute RF measurements, correlate measured results with analytical or numerical predictions, and work with electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate electromagnetic components into larger systems. The position also requires the ability to troubleshoot complex RF systems, communicate analysis results clearly, and mentor less experienced engineers.
Required Qualifications:Master’s or doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Physics, or a related field with a concentration in electromagnetics, RF, microwave engineering, or a similar discipline
8+ years of relevant engineering experience
Experience with one or more computational electromagnetics tools such as ANSYS HFSS, CST Studio Suite, FEKO, COMSOL Multiphysics, or similar
Experience with antenna analysis, design, simulation, or measurement
Experience with waveguide, transmission-line, resonator, or RF component design
Experience with near-field and far-field electromagnetic measurements
Experience with vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, RF power measurement equipment, or related instrumentation
Experience with electromagnetic compatibility, shielding, coupling, grounding, or electromagnetic susceptibility analysis
Experience developing computational or analytical tools using MATLAB, Python, or similar engineering software
Experience with high-power RF or microwave systems, high-field electromagnetic environments, or directed-energy systems
Experience with pulsed RF measurements and time-domain electromagnetic analysis
Experience designing or supporting RF test fixtures, antennas, waveguide components, or other custom electromagnetic hardware
Experience leading technical efforts or mentoring junior engineers
Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
