Job summary

Greif, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electro–Mechanical Technician to diagnose, repair, calibrate, and optimize electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation/control systems across the site.

The role requires independent work under minimal supervision and a strong emphasis on reliability and safety. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, calibrations, preventive/predictive maintenance, root cause analyses, and collaboration with production, engineering, and EHS teams.

Qualifications

• Advanced troubleshooting across electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and instrumentation/control systems.
• Instrumentation calibration, loop checks, and documentation with industrial devices.
• Interpret and update schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs; diagnose PLC/HMI/drive issues.
• Experience using CMMS to schedule work, track histories, and analyze failure data.
• Strong safety mindset and adherence to electrical/mechanical standards.
• Mentor peers; communicate effectively with vendors and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, repairs, and rebuilds electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Performs instrumentation and controls work with sensors, transmitters, and valves.
• Diagnoses PLC/HMI/drive issues and isolates faults with schematics and diagnostic tools.
• Executes preventive/predictive maintenance and creates work orders to reduce downtime.
• Conducts root cause analyses and implements reliability improvements.
• Plans and prioritizes work orders; coordinates with operations for safe startup.
• Completes calibrations and maintains as-found/as-left CMMS records.
• Identifies spares and supports inventory and vendor needs.
• Reads electrical schematics and P&IDs; suggests maintainable design improvements.
• Partners with production, engineering, quality, and EHS for safe practices.
• Mentors colleagues; may lead small maintenance tasks or contractor work.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
