Job summary

AHU Technologies Inc. in Clifton, NJ, seeks an Electro-Mechanical Technician III/IV to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize industrial production equipment.

This hands-on role requires strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills; you will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, identify root causes, and support safe, efficient production. Four 10-hour shifts weekly, with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Associate degree, technical diploma, or trade certification in Electro-Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience with AC/DC motors, motor controls, VFDs, control panels, and 480V three-phase systems.
• Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
• Ability to read ladder logic, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
• Working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, steam, compressed-air, and boiler systems.
• CMMS experience preferred.
• Knowledge of LOTO procedures and NFPA 70E electrical safety standards.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in industrial environments involving heights, confined spaces, varying temperatures, and outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify root causes with minimal supervision.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems and control wiring up to 480V three-phase.
• Maintain and troubleshoot: motors, motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, sensors, control panels, electrical circuits.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on industrial washers, dryers, ironers, conveyors, boilers, compressors, pumps, and other production machinery.
• Document maintenance activities, work orders, parts usage, and equipment history using CMMS.
• Follow OSHA requirements and safety procedures, including LOTO and arc-flash safety.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues.
• Provide guidance and on-the-job training to less experienced technicians when needed.
