Job summary

KBR’s National Security Solutions team seeks a Senior Electrical/Mechanical Technician to support assembly, integration, testing, and sustainment of complex systems in an on-site R&D lab in Washington, D.C. The role emphasizes fabrication, calibration, and rapid troubleshooting to meet mission-critical requirements.

The position requires a DoD clearance (Secret), or higher, and extensive hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical assembly in industrial environments.

Qualifications

• Required: DoD Secret clearance.
• High school diploma with 10+ years of experience OR an Associate’s degree with 8+ years.
• Experience in commercial manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Strong electrical/mechanical assembly and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with diagnostic equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes).

Responsibilities

• Assemble, integrate, and test electronic and electro-mechanical systems.
• Soldering and cable/harness fabrication.
• Electrical testing including continuity and voltage verification.
• Troubleshoot PCB-level, wiring, and system-level issues.
• Read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Fabricate and assemble mechanical components and systems.
• Read blueprints and work instructions.
• Work with a small team on fast-paced projects.
