Job summary

General Motors is seeking an Advanced Electrified Propulsion Engineer to lead cross-functional teams in developing propulsion system architectures for next-generation EVs. You will balance vehicle hardware and propulsion requirements while aligning with customer expectations across vehicle, battery, drive unit, and motor teams.

The role emphasizes solving ambiguous problems, applying DFSS Black Belt methods, and delivering high-fidelity models and designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in product engineering.
• Ability to lead cross-functional technical projects.
• Demonstrated capability to handle ambiguous problems.
• Strong communication, collaboration and negotiation skills.
• DFSS Black Belt certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Balance vehicle and propulsion system hardware requirements.
• Coordinate with vehicle, battery, drive unit and motor teams.
• Develop propulsion systems to meet performance and cost targets.
• Ensure high-fidelity analytical models and designs.
• Lead trade studies to optimize range, performance and cost.
• Engage leadership to drive ATW and BA gates.
• Benchmark technologies and document IP for patents.
