You will drive cross-functional collaboration across vehicle, battery, drive unit, and motor teams, manage complex projects, and guide the Balanced Architecture phase through ATW gates toward handoff to execution teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in product engineering.
  • Ability to lead complex technical projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to take ambiguous problems and define a tangible approach to identify optimal solutions.
  • Showcase a wide range of creativity and latitude on challenging assignments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, project management and negotiating skills.
  • DFSS Black Belt.

Responsibilities

  • Balance vehicle and propulsion system hardware requirements.
  • Ensure requirements and hardware technology align with customer expectations by collaborating with engineers from vehicle, battery, drive unit, and motor teams.
  • Develop the propulsion system to meet key performance and cost targets by working collaboratively VDDV, Cost Engineering and Planning.
  • Lead component or system trade studies to select optimized solutions to meet vehicle requirements of range, performance, drive quality, and cost.
  • Engage with other SMTs, Vehicle teams, Planning, Finance, and Electrification leadership as necessary to lead the project team through successful completion of key ATW and BA gates.
  • Continuously benchmark automotive and other industries to identify and implement innovative technologies for electric vehicles.
  • Protect intellectual property (IP) by documenting your new ideas for invention board review and subsequent patent submissions.
