Job summary

American Energy Group (AEG) is seeking a Senior Electrician with 5-10+ years of field experience to manage electrical projects in a fast-paced environment. You will supervise crews, coordinate with customers, and ensure work meets NEC and safety standards, with opportunities to work on EV charging, LED lighting, and solar installations.

This full-time role requires driving to multiple sites, delivering quality workmanship, and taking ownership of project outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of electrical experience required.
• Illinois Journeyman or Master Electrician preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Experience running commercial electrical projects.
• Ability to read blueprints and electrical drawings.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work on ladders and lifts.
• Experience with EV charging, generators, lighting controls, or solar is a plus.
• Chicago Electrical License is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial and residential electrical projects.
• Supervise and mentor apprentice electricians.
• Read and interpret electrical plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Plan daily work and coordinate jobsite activities.
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems.
• Perform service upgrades, panel replacements, and equipment installations.
• Install EV charging systems (Level 2 and DC Fast Chargers).
• Install LED lighting systems and lighting controls.
• Ensure all work complies with NEC, local codes, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate inspections and communicate with inspectors when needed.
• Maintain accurate job documentation.
• Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and project managers.
• Identify field issues and provide practical solutions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work van and job site.
