Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking an experienced licensed electrician to perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on critical electrical systems across data center facilities and equipment, ensuring compliance with NEC and NFPA codes.

Responsibilities include safe switching with lockout/tagout, diagnosing faults, supporting 24x7 data center coverage, coordinating with engineers, and maintaining accurate records using Maximo or similar systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five (5) years’ experience as a licensed electrician, with 24 months of maintenance on equipment/systems in a commercial/industrial setting.
• Active Local Municipality Journeyman or Master Electrician License.
• Demonstrated expertise in mission-critical electrical systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, ATS).
• Strong understanding of electrical safety programs, including NFPA.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on critical electrical systems.
• Execute safe electrical switching, LOTO, and energized work procedures per NFPA 70E and local code requirements.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimize downtime and service interruptions.
• Support 24x7 electrical coverage for the data center, including after-hours calls.
• Coordinate with data center operations, facilities engineering, HVAC technicians, and network teams.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and inspections using Maximo or equivalent.
