Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join the Orlando campus. You will perform advanced electrical maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, install, and modify facility electrical systems, acting as a senior technical resource on the team.

Responsibilities include guiding complex troubleshooting, supporting planned outages, preventive maintenance, and mentoring other electricians.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or facilities electrical maintenance.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex electrical distribution, equipment, and related facility issues.
  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical one-lines, schematics, and drawings.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70/70E, OSHA requirements, and lockout/tagout practices.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and field-leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced electrical maintenance across the Orlando campus.
  • Mentor less-experienced electricians and provide field guidance.
  • Support planned outages, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and specialized contractors as needed.

Who You Are

Responsible for advanced electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, and modification of facility electrical systems across the Orlando campus. Serves as a senior technical resource on the electrical maintenance team, supporting complex troubleshooting, system reliability, planned outages, preventive maintenance, and the technical development of other electricians.

Performs work on commercial and industrial distribution systems, equipment, branch circuits, lighting, controls, motors, panels, switchgear, transformers, and related infrastructure within the holder’s training and qualification. Provides medium‑and high‑voltage support when trained, qualified, and authorized.

Collaborates with the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor and Planner/Scheduler to execute planned and emergent tasks. Offers field technical leadership on complex work, assists with recurring‑failure troubleshooting, supports root‑cause analysis, mentors less‑experienced electricians, and coordinates with Engineering and specialized contractors when additional expertise or resources are required.

Ensures all preventive and corrective maintenance complies with electrical safety, quality, technical, and documentation standards. Supports shutdowns, switching activities, Quick Path projects, facility modifications, and other Facilities initiatives that demand advanced electrical expertise. Accurately records work and equipment conditions in LMBuildings and identifies opportunities to improve reliability and preventive‑maintenance programs.

Repairs, constructs, installs, troubleshoots, and maintains routine electrical systems and equipment. Cuts, threads, bends, couples, and straps conduit. Cuts wire and conduit to length. Installs, repairs, or replaces switch boxes, light bulbs, plugs, sockets, light fuses, and extension cords. Disassembles motors, generators, and other equipment in preparation for repair. Troubleshoots electrical malfunctions, inspects circuits and wiring for shielding and grounding, and tests electrical equipment for safety and efficiency. Uses blueprints, drawings, layout, or other specifications, and electrical hand tools and voltage‑or‑amperage measuring and recording devices.

Basic Qualifications
  • Extensive experience performing commercial, industrial, manufacturing, or facilities electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation
  • Experience independently troubleshooting complex electrical distribution, equipment, branch circuit, motor, control, or related facility electrical issues
  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
  • Experience reading and interpreting electrical one‑line diagrams, schematics, construction drawings, equipment documentation, and technical manuals
  • Working knowledge of electrical safe‑work practices, lockout/tagout requirements, and applicable electrical codes and standards
  • Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment to safely troubleshoot electrical systems
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and support to other electrical personnel in the field
  • Ability to respond to changing priorities and emergent electrical maintenance requirements
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with electrical maintenance activities in varying facility environments
Desired Skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required site access/security requirements
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license, or equivalent recognized electrical trade qualification
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting switchgear, transformers, distribution panels, motor control centers, disconnects, breakers, and associated electrical distribution equipment
  • Experience supporting medium/high‑voltage switching, maintenance, testing, or outage activities within applicable qualification and authorization requirements
  • Experience coordinating and executing planned electrical shutdowns and system restoration activities
  • Experience with electrical preventive maintenance activities including inspection, testing, cleaning, torque verification, thermographic findings, or other condition‑based maintenance activities
  • Experience troubleshooting complex or recurring electrical failures and supporting root‑cause analysis
  • Experience supporting electrical installations, facility modifications, and minor construction or Quick Path projects
  • Experience utilizing LMBuildings, Maximo, or similar computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, OSHA requirements, and electrical safe‑work practices
  • Strong technical troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and field leadership skills
Pay Information

Full‑Time Salary Range: $60300.00 - $112100.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
