Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Electrical Test and Reliability Engineer for Starlink gateways to design, test, and validate ground antenna electronics and payloads for the world’s largest satellite network.

You will analyze failures, select hardware or design PCBAs, and collaborate across mechanical, thermal, software, and test teams to ensure robust performance in harsh environments and global operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or STEM; advanced degrees preferred.
• Experience in hardware development, failure analysis, and reliability engineering is essential.
• Strong knowledge of RF concepts and electronics reliability.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute environmental, RF, mechanical, and electrical test solutions for ground antenna electronics and payload.
• Perform detailed failure analysis of ground antenna hardware and implement corrective actions.
• Select off-the-shelf hardware and/or design custom PCBAs to measure signals and apply flight-like loads.
• Hands‑on support through design qualification, production ramp, and ground network rollout.
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, software, test engineering, supply chain, and silicon teams to deliver integrated hardware.
• Perform electrical bench testing of failures to replicate and inform mitigation.
• Build tools to analyze data from the field and the lab for design improvements.
• Challenge assumptions and seek simple, robust solutions to complex problems.
