Job Responsibilities - Principle
Follow Automated Machinery and Electrical Safety Practices and Standards
Control Panel wiring
Machine wiring
AC, DC, & servo motor wiring
Industrial Robot wiring
Sensor setup & configuration
Ethernet & Serial cabling assembly
Electrical debugging
Assist assembly technicians with mechanical debugging
Mentorship of fellow electrical technicians
Field service
Job Responsibilities - Other
Stay abreast of automation industry trends relative to electrical control systems for industrial machinery.
Direction Received
This position will take direction from the Controls Department Manager
Supervision of Others
This position does not have any direct reports.
Qualifications – Education
Technical school – 2 years minimum with 5 years’ work experience preferred
Minimum Qualification – Basic Knowledge / Experience:
Conduit and wire trough installation
Industrial wiring and soldering
Electrical test equipment
NFPA and NEC electrical standards
Ability to read and understand electrical wiring schematics
General motor principles
General electrical noise principles and best practices
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Office
AutoCAD Electrical
UL508A experience and understanding
Journeyman electrician license
IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) endorsement
Other Requirements
Strong mechanical background
Employee must have his/her own tools to perform work duties
Able to work with minimal supervision
Willing to provide mentorship to fellow electrical technicians

Work Environment
Omnitech’s production floor and machine shop with occasional visits to customer’s facilities.
Physical Demands
Lifting items typically less than 50 pounds
Standing, kneeling, and working on machines for prolonged periods of time
Travel Requirements
Local travel – Occasional weekday trips to customers within driving distance of Omnitech are required.
Out of town travel – Occasional out of town trips with overnight stays are infrequent but required. Most trips occur during the Monday – Friday work week.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
