Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking an Electrical Systems Sr. Manager to direct and integrate all electrical engineering activities across a complex aerospace development program.

You will serve as the senior electrical engineering leader, guiding design, verification, test, and equipment development to meet requirements and customer expectations. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, coordinate across engineering domains, and ensure rigorous change management, requirements traceability, and program

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 15+ years of aerospace or defense engineering with increasing leadership.
  • Experience leading integrated electrical engineering teams.
  • Strong background in avionics, power systems, verification and test.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
  • Experience with aerospace development lifecycle processes.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional technical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership for all electrical engineering activities on the program.
  • Establish and maintain the electrical engineering baseline across design, integration, verification and test.
  • Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, safety, EMI/EMC, power, thermal and environmental requirements.
  • Lead technical decision-making, trade studies, design reviews and risk assessments.
  • Drive timely resolution of complex technical issues affecting cost, schedule, or integration.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary electrical engineering organization across design, systems engineering, test and equipment development.
  • Align engineering priorities and staffing across integrated product teams.
  • Mentor senior engineers and ensure engineering rigor and accountability.
  • Support staffing plans and process improvements.
  • Oversee development of avionics hardware, electrical architectures, power distribution, harnessing, and interfaces.
  • Ensure configuration control and disciplined change management.
  • Coordinate interfaces across mechanical, electrical, firmware, manufacturing and systems teams.
  • Ensure requirements traceability and verification planning is integrated.
  • Oversee verification and validation activities including bench, integration, environmental testing and EMI/EMC qualification.
  • Direct development of test equipment, automated test systems and lab integration capabilities.
  • Review and approve test objectives and instrumentation plans.
  • Correlate analytical predictions with lab data and qualification results.
  • Support program planning, cost estimation and risk management.
  • Track engineering execution against milestones and performance measures.
  • Provide status updates to leadership and customers.
  • Support major program reviews.
