Job summary

Loft Orbital in Golden, CO seeks a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to own the electrical backbone of missions—from payload integration and power allocation to CD&H interfaces and harness design. You will read ICDs to guide interconnect decisions and collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and systems teams, with some board-design input when needed.

Strong communication, system-level thinking, and extensive experience with EMI/EMC test plans are required to ensure electrical compatibility

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical systems engineering including harness design and power distribution.
• Ability to interpret ICDs for harness and interconnect design.
• Experience developing system component requirements and interconnect diagrams.
• Familiarity with EMI/EMC test plans and ensuring electrical compatibility.
• Senior‑level ownership of mission electrical systems; board design exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical systems scope for assigned missions, including harness design and power allocation.
• Read ICDs to guide harness design and system integration decisions.
• Support CD&H architecture and requirements.
• Interpret EMI/EMC test plans and ensure compatibility.
• Develop system component requirements and interconnect diagrams.
• Collaborate with board design engineers; assist with board design when needed.
• Serve as a key electrical contact coordinating with hardware, mechanical, and systems teams.
