Job summary

GE Aerospace in the United States is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to lead high‑reliability digital power conversion and electric drive system development, including HV design, control electronics, and thermal integration. You will guide architecture, verification, and cross‑functional integration across hardware, test, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on power electronics or electric drives.
  • 15+ years of experience in electrical engineering and systems engineering for aerospace or similarly demanding programs.
  • Proven track record leading design, verification, and validation of power conversion hardware and control electronics.
  • Experience with high‑voltage systems, insulation coordination, and HV testing.
  • Ability to work across cross‑functional teams and manage scope, schedule and risk.

Responsibilities

  • Own system‑level requirements flow‑down for digital power conversion hardware and firmware.
  • Document design decisions, analyses, and test outcomes with traceability.
  • Lead architecture and detailed design of digital power conversion (DC/DC, high‑voltage).
  • Plan and execute verification and validation including environmental and electrical tests.
  • Define insulation coordination and HV design rules for kilovolt systems.
  • Design and review PCBs and schematics for power stages and control boards.
  • Lead HV testing and qualification activities, includingpartial discharge tests.
  • Collaborate to develop automated test benches and lab infrastructure.
  • Provide mentorship to early career engineers and drive continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to proposals, trade studies, and technology roadmaps.
