Job summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking an experienced Electrical Specialist SR 1 for a contract role in the Ackerman, MS area. The position requires 5–10 years in power/industrial environments and hands-on work with 480V to 13.8kV systems in a coal-fired plant.

The role involves inspection, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of electrical equipment, plus emergency response and safety training. A technical degree and journeyman background are preferred.

Qualifications

5–10 years of related experience in power generation or heavy industrial settings.
Journeyman Electrician certification preferred.
Experience with 480V–13.8kV systems and HV switchyard maintenance.
Strong safety compliance and ability to train others in Electrical Safety.

Responsibilities

Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain motors, generators, transformers, switches, and control equipment.
Perform journey-level electrical work including wiring, equipment, and controls installation.
Maintain DC emergency battery backup systems and high voltage electrical systems.
Document maintenance activities and support planned outages with technical input.
