Job summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking an experienced Electrical Specialist SR 1 for a contract assignment at a coal-fired power plant in Ackerman, MS. The role requires 5-10 years of related experience and a technical degree.

Candidates will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain motors, generators, transformers, and high voltage switchyards up to 13.8 kV, and participate in safety programs. Excellent teamwork, documentation, and emergency response are essential.

Qualifications

Journeyman Electrician with power plant or heavy industrial experience.
Proficient in inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems.
Able to work with voltages from 480V to 13.8kV and high voltage switchyards.

Responsibilities

Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain motors, generators, transformers, switches, and control equipment.
Perform journey-level electrician work, including wiring and controls installation.
Maintain DC emergency battery backup systems and high voltage systems.
Document maintenance activities and communicate with plant personnel.
Respond to emergencies and participate in planned outages with technical support.
