Job summary

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking an experienced Controls Specialist for a contract position at a coal-fired power generation plant in Ackerman, MS. The role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing instrumentation and computer systems within the daily instrumentation and controls work group.

The ideal candidate will have 0–5 years of related field experience, strong electrical knowledge, and hands-on experience with platforms like Ovation, Foxboro, ABB, or PLCs.

Qualifications

• 0–5 years experience in a related field.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting instrumentation and control systems.
• Proficiency with control narratives and markup.
• Ability to prepare IO lists and cost estimates.
• Experience supporting startup activities at power plant sites.

Responsibilities

• Support and transition between multiple projects.
• Check cables and wiring in the field and perform site walkdowns.
• Assist in start-up activities and prepare layouts and conceptual designs.
• Develop IO lists and assist with cost estimation in sub disciplines.
