Job summary

Intertek in Plano, Texas is seeking an Engineer - Electrical Safety to join our team. You will perform testing and evaluation to national and international standards, document results, and communicate with clients.

Under supervision of a senior engineer, you will set up equipment, run tests, prepare preliminary design reviews, and contribute to final reports. The role requires up to 75% travel and a strong foundation in electrical engineering.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (minimum).
Ability to utilize basic shop equipment and various hand tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must possess a valid unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record.
Microsoft Office proficiency.
Ability to travel up to 75%.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards for the EUT (equipment under test).
Validate the project scope and sample applicability.
Set up and operate EUT; perform and document simple repairs on EUT as needed.
Perform testing of products in accordance with standards.
Complete preliminary design reviews (PDR) both on and off site.
Develop, set up, and follow established test plans.
Compile test results and final report using established shell; submit for reviewer approval.
Communicate project status and test results to client, sales, and management.
Provide ongoing support to clients as needed.
