Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering, Inc. is hiring a Senior Engineer in Saco, ME to lead electrical design, relay settings, and commissioning for utility, industrial, and federal power systems.

You will mentor junior staff, oversee protection schemes, and ensure standards compliance across project lifecycles. The role spans design through startup, with duties in testing, field verification, and customer interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical or engineering technology) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 6–15+ years engineering and/or testing & commissioning experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar engineering design software.

Responsibilities

• Develop Protection & Control design packages (one-line/three-line diagrams, wiring/logic diagrams).
• Perform relay coordination, short-circuit, load-flow, arc-flash and power quality studies.
• Lead projects and mentor junior engineers, designers, and technicians.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, startup support, and field verification of substations and systems.
• Ensure compliance with NERC, IEEE, and client standards; manage customer interfaces and project scope.
