Job summary

Helix Electric in Manassas, VA is seeking a Project Manager to plan, manage and direct all assigned electrical commercial/mixed-use projects, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget. You will develop strong project teams, deliver on time, and manage customer expectations.

Lead a portfolio with approximately 3 direct reports and 10 total reports, driving profitability and coordinating with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management in electrical commercial/mixed-use construction.
• Understanding of engineering in electric power.
• Field experience coordinating with construction management.
• Extensive knowledge of scheduling, bids, take-offs, change orders, and contracts.
• Proven ability to develop relationships and win projects.
• Proven ability to run a profitable portfolio.
• Strong initiative, execution and communication skills (oral & written).
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and build strong project teams to deliver quality outputs on time and within budget.
• Drive division profitability through effective project execution.
• Lead project management goals, procurement, contractual requirements, and resource planning.
• Improve systems and processes to meet customer requirements and profitability goals.
• Manage 3 direct reports and 10 total reports; mentor and develop the team.
• Ensure schedule requirements are met and adapt priorities as needed.
• Interact with customers to validate expectations before, during, and after project completion.
• Oversee third-party construction firms and manage project reviews for financial forecasting.
• Communicate challenges, risks, and successes proactively.
• Oversee invoicing per project terms and negotiate change orders.
