Tiello in Illinois is seeking an experienced Project Manager for electrical construction to own projects from bid through closeout. You will lead schedules, costs, risk mitigation, and client relationships on large healthcare and institutional jobs.

Role requires 3–7+ years PM experience in institutional electrical construction and travel to sites as needed. Competitive base with strong emphasis on growth of key accounts and mentoring junior PMs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related field – or progressive responsibility in field electrical construction
  • 3–7+ years of project management experience, preferably in institutional construction
  • Minimum 2 years managing large, complex electrical construction projects exceeding $5MM (healthcare experience preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience estimating jobs and forecasting materials and labor throughout projects
  • Proven success meeting construction project KPIs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Strong organization, time management, and ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Superior analytical, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and influence; high energy and adaptable under pressure
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as needed

  • Manage overall project schedules, milestones, and deliverables from bid through completion
  • Track project financials, labor, and change orders; manage billing
  • Forecast materials and labor; oversee materials purchasing and deliveries
  • Estimate projects: perform material take-offs, review scope and final bid, finalize summary sheets
  • Visit job sites and conduct job meetings; collaborate with site superintendents and build trust with field staff
  • Coordinate subcontractors and communicate with GCs, construction managers, and inspectors
  • Maintain customer relationships, manage large accounts, and develop new business annually
  • Mentor less senior PMs and manage expectations of contributing office personnel
  • Take ownership of project financials and outcomes

Job Title: Project Manager – Electrical Construction

Location: Minooka, Illinois (travel to job sites as needed)

Compensation: $175k – $185k (Competitive base salary)

Tiello is currently partnered with an established commercial electrical contractor with a strong portfolio of institutional and healthcare construction across the Chicagoland area. They deliver large, complex electrical projects exceeding $5MM, working alongside general contractors, construction managers, and owners from bid through closeout.

They are seeking an experienced Project Manager to take full ownership of electrical construction projects and help grow key customer accounts.

Role Summary

The Project Manager is accountable for the success of all aspects of electrical construction projects, from bidding and contract award through completion. This includes outlining and delegating tasks, building timelines, estimating and controlling costs, mitigating risk, and nurturing positive client relationships.

The PM collaborates across the organization – purchasing, accounting, engineering, and safety – as well as with field supervision, general contractors, construction managers, and inspectors.
