Project Manager – Electrical Construction (Permanent) – Illinois
Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 per year
Job Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a rapidly growing, privately held industrial electric contractor. The role requires a hands‑on Project Manager with deep experience in electrical construction, capable of managing complex projects from initiation to completion.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of electrical construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to secure project success.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with electrical and construction safety standards, including NEC.
- Manage project equipment needs, procurement, maintenance, and logistics.
- Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Conduct regular project reviews and report status to senior management.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues; implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Continuously improve project management processes and practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, focused on electrical construction.
- Proven track record managing large‑scale electrical construction projects from start to finish.
- In‑depth knowledge of electrical systems, industrial equipment, and construction management practices.
- Familiarity with NEC and other relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Strong leadership and team‑management skills, with ability to motivate and mentor.
- Excellent project‑management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and resource allocation.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, with ability to identify and mitigate risks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
- Preferred: degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
