Job summary

Jobot seeks a Commercial Electrical Estimator for our Indianapolis team. You will own the full lifecycle on projects—from opportunity qualification through estimating, bidding, and handoff—driving profitable outcomes with general contractors and owners.

This is a commission-eligible, hands-on role with informal mentorship from senior leaders. You’ll work in a high-growth platform, moving quickly to win select office, industrial, and institutional work while growing a developing team.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of electrical project development or estimating experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, property owners, and other referral sources to generate commercial electrical project opportunities.
• Qualify incoming bid opportunities and pursue new ones, favoring larger office, industrial, and institutional work.
• Walk job sites and review plans/specs to scope commercial electrical projects accurately, including takeoffs for equipment, wiring, panels, and systems.
• Build competitive, profitable estimates and proposals, balancing price to win against margin targets.
• Present and negotiate proposals directly with GCs and owners, adjusting scope or approach as needed to close the deal.
• Hand off won projects to the field team with a clear scope, budget, and expectations.
• Track and manage a personal pipeline of active bids and opportunities, reporting on pipeline health and backlog.
• Share technical knowledge informally with less experienced teammates.
• Stay current on local market activity and estimating assumptions.
