Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company is seeking a senior Project Engineer to lead complex capital projects across power generation and infrastructure facilities. The role requires mastery of journey-level duties, extensive project and contract management, and strong regulatory interaction with external agencies.

Qualifications

• 4-year BS Degree in Engineering from an accredited program in the US or equivalent.
• Current and active California PE license required.
• Minimum of eight years of cumulative engineering, design, and construction experience, with at least five in generation or heavy industry.

Responsibilities

• Leads and applies extensive knowledge in the design and/or project management for multiple complex projects.
• Develops and/or evolves standards and specifications.
• Provides leadership, coaching, technical direction, oversight and quality control for projects and teams; mentor for engineers.
• Produces extensive risk analyses and engineering studies of generation assets, including modeling of systems.
• Develops findings for internal and external audiences including regulatory bodies and vendors.
• Interprets and applies industry standards and regulatory codes; educates others accordingly.
• Manages relationships with external stakeholders and negotiates with regulators and third parties as assigned.
• Supports start-up testing, inspections, and condition assessment for large projects.
• Plans and presents written technical and regulatory documents; represents PG&E to government bodies.
